Courses

The Degree Programme offers two three-year study tracks, named Technical/Scientific and Technical/Application-Oriented, which progressively differentiate starting from the first year.

The Technical/Scientific track replicates the educational path of previous years and provides a solid foundation in mathematics, equipping students with the formal modelling tools needed to approach further studies in the Master’s Degree Programme in Computer Engineering with awareness and effectiveness.

The Technical/Application-Oriented track is designed for students who have already decided not to pursue a Master’s degree and prefer to replace some core courses with a training internship. This helps consolidate their knowledge and skills in software development, with the aim of entering the job market immediately after completing the three-year programme.

In the first year, the two tracks differ by only one course: CALCULUS I in the Technical/Scientific track and ELEMENTS OF CALCULUS in the Technical/Application-Oriented track. Lectures for CALCULUS I begin in September, while those for ELEMENTS OF CALCULUS start in March.

Regarding the choice of study track at the time of enrolment, the following considerations apply:
- Students who are certain they wish to continue to the Master’s degree in order to acquire more advanced knowledge and skills will choose the Technical/Scientific track.
- Students who are certain they do not wish to continue to the Master’s degree and prefer to strengthen their software development skills through a training internship will choose the Technical/Application-Oriented track.
- Students who are undecided may choose the Technical/Scientific track, start attending CALCULUS I lectures, and decide during the first teaching period whether to change their choice.

In general, all students may change their chosen track during the first teaching period after enrolment. The change may also be made in subsequent years, according to the deadlines established for study plan modifications.

The study plan depends on the year of enrolment.

NOTE: detailed information on individual courses (lecturers, syllabus) is made available during the academic year in which they are delivered. An overview of course content can be obtained by consulting the pages for courses delivered in previous cohorts.
